Meeting and Guest speaker on The Edible Garden

Rebecca Last-Guenette will be our guest speaker at our regular meeting and she will talk to us about The Edible Garden (Cynthia Anderson, coordinator).

This presentation discusses incorporating edibles, particularly perennial edibles into your landscape. Reasons for growing food in your garden, a discussion of perennial and ornamental edibles, and a brief introduction to permaculture are included. There is also a section on techniques for measuring your productivity, tips on using what your grow and building community as well as resources conclude this talk.

Fusion Landscaping

At our regular monthly meeting we will have a presentation by Ben Stapper on Fusion Gardening. Come and learn about what this new term, fusion landscaping, is all about: combining traditional elements of beautiful outdoor spaces with water wise techniques for stormwater management and conservation. Mini Flower Show Categories:

1. “Spring Ahead” - an arrangement incorporating a time piece to acknowledge daylight savings time on March 19th

2. “From the Library" - an arrangement that was inspired by a book you have read - bring the book

3. “Houseplant Whimsey” - jazz up a potted house plant

Composting Worms and Mini Flower Show

Meeting, Mini Flower Show and presentation by Kathleen Pitruniak on Composting Worms (Kathleen Pitruniak, coordinator)

1. “Earth Day” - an arrangement using brown, blue and green colours, in a recycled container

2. “Commonality” - using the same elements make a pair (or more) arrangements to be displayed side by side

3. “Everlasting” - an arrangement using dried materials
